When trying to include the whole family in a project (such as developing a vision for how the farm could look in 10 years), it can be hard to get everyone to contribute equally. If some family members are living away from the farm it can be hard to get everyone together and it can often be difficult to get effective input from those with the least say in the day to day running. Often this will be the children or partners not living/working on the farm.
Goals Grid is an ideal tool to give everyone equal opportunity to have input to the farm vision. It works best if all members have time before the meeting to write down their individual responses. Then the group comes together, and all contributions are equally and compassionately received by the group to create a shared vision.
An external facilitator is often useful in this process.
