Liveweight targets for weaners and young ewes
The table below provides a guide for the minimum target liveweights for maiden ewes from birth to pre-joining. The target weight at any given time depends on the standard reference weight (SRW, tool 10.7) of their mother.
Following these guidelines ensures high rates of weaner survival and acceptable reproductive performance in young ewes.
